In reading the published search warrants on this case, 32 to be exact (33 were published but there is one duplicate), an interesting picture of this investigation emerges.  At the start, it appears that numerous persons were looked into. Most of the warrants related to persons of interest other than Merritt weren’t published, with the exception of a couple of warrants for phone records (Michael McStay & McCarger McGyver, being examples).
